Effective Date: March 27, 2026
CodeReps ("the App") is a free iOS application for algorithm and coding interview preparation. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
CodeReps does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All user data — including your problem progress, chat history, and spaced repetition cards — is stored locally on your device. We do not operate any servers, and we do not have access to your data.
When you use the AI tutor feature, the messages you send are transmitted to the OpenRouter API, a third-party service that routes requests to large language model providers. This communication happens directly between your device and OpenRouter's servers using the API key you provide.
We encourage you to review OpenRouter's Privacy Policy to understand how they handle data sent through their API.
Your OpenRouter API key is stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device. It is never transmitted to any server operated by us — we have none. The key is only used to authenticate requests directly from your device to OpenRouter's API.
CodeReps uses Apple's SwiftData framework to store your data locally on your device. This includes your problem-solving progress, chat history with the AI tutor, and spaced repetition flashcards. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it.
CodeReps may send local push notifications to remind you to practice. These notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on your device. We do not use remote push notifications, and no notification data is sent to any external server.
You can delete all of your data at any time from the Settings screen within the App. Because all data is stored locally on your device, deleting it removes it completely. Uninstalling the App will also remove all associated data.
CodeReps provides the ability to export your data as a JSON file from the Settings screen. This allows you to keep a backup of your progress, chat history, and flashcards. The exported file is saved locally and is not transmitted to any server.
CodeReps is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App in a way that raises privacy concerns, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how your information is handled.
